Nicole Martinez is the deputy director of Fountainhead Arts, Miami's only live/work artist residency welcoming national and internationally acclaimed artists to Miami each year. Nicole oversees Fountainhead’s communications, fundraising and operations, and publishes The Yearbook, an annual survey of its artists-in-residence.  Prior to joining Fountainhead, Nicole was the founder and director of Culture Conductor, a communications firm that has worked with artists and institutions including Faena Art, the Miami Freedom Tower and Museum of Art and Design, the Bakehouse Art Complex, and Frost Science Museum. A veteran journalist and critic, her writing has appeared in ARTnews, Hyperallergic, Cultured, The Art Newspaper, Artsy, and Wallpaper*. Nicole contributed to Phaidon's Great Women Sculptors and The American Art Book. In 2019, she was recognized for her work by the Society of Professional Journalists Florida. A daughter of Cuban immigrants, Nicole was born and raised in Miami and lives in Biscayne Park with her husband, Felipe, and her children, Max and Luna.
